As a Plant Engineering Facility Mechanic, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Maintaining, repairing, and protecting assets in the 3M Brownwood facility.
- Working with engineering and production personnel during troubleshooting, modification, fabrication, machining, welding and repair of plant utility and process equipment.
- Performing routine preventative and corrective maintenance on industrial manufacturing equipment such as drives, motors, pumps, overhead hoists, boilers, compressors, rotary equipment, air handling equipment, and plant process/support equipment.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:
- Possess a two (2) year technical degree or diploma (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution OR
- Three (3) years of industrial maintenance experience in a private, public, government or military environment.
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Minimum (5) years of industrial maintenance experience in a private, public, government or military environment.
- Experience working with pneumatic, hydraulic, and electronic systems in an industrial environment.
- Experience with intermediate machining with basic lathes and mills.
- Demonstrated strong problem-solving and computer skills.
- This position may require working overtime, working weekends, and working holidays, as needed. This position is on a slow rotating shift.
