Meals on Wheels Bookkeeper/Clerical $12.00 Hourly. The Bookkeeper/Clerical is responsible for assisting in the maintenance of accounting records, using acceptable bookkeeping practices and procedures. Comply with special bookkeeping procedures that may be required by any local, state, federal or private agencies funding this program, as well as Internal Control Procedures adopted by the Board of Directors of Meals on Wheels Plus, Inc. Works under the direct supervision of the Accounting Supervisor.
Specific Responsibilities
- Maintain mailing lists for the program.
- Assist in maintaining accounts payable, investment, and other files, as assigned.
- Record daily deposits in Raisers Edge computer system and prepare all memorial and honors as needed.
- Assist with reconciliation of monthly bank and investment account statements.
- Assist with billing for meals in the Texas Health & Human Services TMHP billing system.
- Prepare monthly billing for private pay and clients making a donation for meals.
- Assist with delivery of meals as needed. This includes training new volunteer drivers.
- Assist in answering telephone and directing calls to proper person.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Have a high school education plus education, or experience, in basic bookkeeping and accounting.
- Minimum of two years office experience, including data entry. Non-profit experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of business English, spelling, punctuation, arithmetic and office practices and procedures.
- Good organizational skills and accuracy. Must be detail oriented.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
