Field Technician
(Sweetwater)
The position is responsible for tank and hopper car cleaning (non-passenger railcars) and the inspection, care and maintenance of equipment used in the cleaning process.
This position requires the ability to make safe confined space entries wearing a respirator mask and other PPE with limited lighting to clean the interior of tank and hopper cars in compliance with Tactical Cleaning policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Must be comfortable working in small, confined spaces, heights, using a respirator mask, and physical labor.
- This position is a physical demanding role that is 100% outside exposed to all weather environments.
Duties:
- Inspect and clean railcar interiors for compliance with customer, FRA, AAR and Tactical Cleaning requirements.
- Complete cleaning checklists as required.
- Maintain a top priority of a clean and safe work environment. This involves ensuring all company guidelines are met and all safety rules are followed when performing duties, including Tactical Cleaning's Health and Safety Program.
Requirements:
- Have a valid Driver’s license.
- Ability and willingness to be trained on Hazwoper courses, Confined Spacing, First-Aid, Hazardous Materials, and other required safety and/or OSHA training.
- Ability to pass a company required physical examination and drug and alcohol screen.
- Ability to pass a company required respiratory wellness test and respirator fit test.
- Ability to climb ladders, tolerate confined spaces and heights, bend, stoop, stretch, lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs. overhead on a consistent basis. This includes working safely around heavy equipment and on top of, under and inside railcars, and railroad tracks.
Salary $18.00 - $19.00 / hour
