Pipe Layer
(Abilene)
The Pipe Layers are an integral crew member that performs many different tasks that require physical labor during all phases on the construction site. Grade checking and use of standard pipe lasers, use of GPS equipment and level & grade rod for calculating elevation and slopes are among this list of tasks a pipe layer may perform. May operate hand and power tools of all types. May clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support sides of excavations and clean up the debris. Provides assistance to Foreman and Supervisors as needed. Must be capable of following safety regulations and work plans and have a positive attitude.

Job Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in utility and earthwork construction projects
- Ability to respond quickly and effectively under pressure and deadlines
- Tactful and mature demeanor with well-developed interpersonal skills including the ability to work well with diverse personalities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Works both indoors and outdoors
- Frequently performs physical activities that require considerable use of the arms and legs and moving the whole body, such as standing, lifting, walking, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching; climb, balance, talk and hear
- Exposed to exhaust fumes, gasoline, and diesel fuel
- Ability to move and carry objects up to 50 pounds.
