The work is performed under the direction of a commanding officer, but the individual must be able to take initiative and exercise independent judgment in emergency situations. This position has no supervisory responsibilities, however, may require giving assignments and/or directions to co-workers or members of the public during emergency operations.

• Responds to alarms as a member of a firefighting company; performs variety of firefighting functions involving technical skills.
• Responds as a member of a medical team to bring quality medical care to citizens of the community and surrounding area.
• Participates in Quality Assurance/Improvement activities as assigned.

• Shall hold at least TCFP Basic Firefighter Certification or be able to obtain within one (1) year of employment and maintain such certification.
• Shall maintain a Texas DSHS Emergency Medical Technician/Basic (EMT-B) certification or be able to obtain within one (1) year of employment.
• Shall hold a valid Texas Class B Driver's License or higher or be able to obtain such a license.

Salary 

$58,336.67 - $60,261.78 per year
