Chief Juvenile Probation Officer

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university AND no less than five year's experience in juvenile probation field required
• Ability to speak in public and perform varied public relations activities
• Must have a thorough knowledge of the Texas Juvenile Justice System
• Pass a criminal history background check prior to employment and for continued employment Pass a sex offender registration / background check prior to employment and for continued employment
• Pass a fingerprint criminal/sex offender history background check for continued employment

Specific Duties:

• To develop and update departmental policies, rules and regulations
• To prepare and monitor the department’s budget and facilitate all required payment authorizations
• To hire, train and supervise all departmental personnel
• To review all casework and assist personnel with court work and problem-solving
• To perform other duties as assigned by the Juvenile Board

Salary: $81,259 per year
