Lawn King in Abilene, Texas is looking to fill their Lawn Service Supervisor position. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Preparing all necessary items for crews to begin work each day.
- Daily supervision of all technicians, laborers, specialists and subcontractors working in his/her assigned area.
- Provide direction to crews regarding scheduling and completion of work as efficiently as possible.
- Provide training to crews on tasks necessary to complete projects as well as required safety practices.
- Provide daily feedback and evaluation of performance as well as conduct annual performance reviews.
- Train staff on safety procedures and conduct site visits to ensure compliance, taking any corrective action as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Safety Responsibilities:
- Seeks to continually improve workplace safety by conducting workplace inspections, toolbox talks, hazard assessments etc.
- Stops unsafe work practices and works with site staff to eliminate / mitigate hazards before continuing.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to read and understand plans, material lists, guidelines and meet timelines.
- Knowledge of landscape operations
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Problem-solving skills.
- On call duties as assigned.
- Must be willing and able to respond within contractual guidelines.
Education and Experience
- Valid driver license and a good driving record are required to drive a company vehicle.
- No experience necessary. Owner is willing to train a qualified candidate.
- A strong work ethic in a labor-intensive environment is required.
Work Conditions/Physical Demands - Capable of working outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
- Reaching, bending, squatting, walking.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
- The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time.
- Use hands and fingers; reach with hands and arms. Vision abilities include close and distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
