A group of Healthcare Executives across a multi-county area in West Central Texas began convening in early 2017 and formed a Next Generation Industry Sector Partnership around shared opportunities for growth in the industry. The purpose of the partnership is:
To jointly create an agenda that supports the stability and growth of the healthcare industry in West Central Texas.
To commit to coordinated action and implementation of shared, high priority areas by public and private sector partners.
To create a forum for the region’s healthcare industry for consistent, high quality connections, networking, information and idea sharing.
The group has evaluated the biggest trends and competetiveness opportunities for the industry in the region, including: New Technologies, Expansion to Rural Areas, Team Approach to Healthcare, and Emphasis on Accountability. Out of these discussions, two core needs and six areas of focus were identified for the Healthcare Partnership to take actionable steps.
Core Needs 1. Begin partnering in the community to determine how to care for patients using collaboration; and 2. Maintain a community resource inventory (healthcare organizations and community organizations) for partnership development purposes.
1. Psych/Substance Abuse Support
2. LEAN: Increase Process Efficiency
3. Community Education & Marketing
4. Lack of Experience & Creation of Mini-Residencies
5. Staff Recruitment
6. Staff Retention
